These new sensory resources have already made such a meaningful difference for my students. We use them as part of our sensory regulation area, where students can take safe movement breaks, calm their bodies, and get the input they need before returning to learning. One special moment was watching a student who was feeling overwhelmed choose the cuddle box, settle their body, and then return to the table ready to participate in an activity with the group.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were so excited and curious. The crash pad immediately became a favorite because it gives them a safe place for big-body movement, jumping, and deep pressure input. The cuddle box has been especially helpful for students who need a cozy, calming space when the classroom feels too busy or loud. These tools are not just \"fun\" items — they help my students build independence by learning what their bodies need and how to ask for appropriate sensory support.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue teaching students how to use these resources as part of their daily self-regulation routines. We are working on helping students identify when they need a break, choose a sensory tool, use it safely, and return to classroom activities. Your generosity has given my students access to materials that support their emotional regulation, focus, communication, and overall success at school. Thank you for investing in our classroom and in my students' growth.","fullyFundedDate":1721073041325,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-classroom-needs/8275052/","projectTitle":"Sensory Classroom Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. White","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9045359_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y104&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1684958247750","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9045359"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_35769","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":551,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":19,"percentAsian":37,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":30,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":14,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":77.4,"schoolId":35769,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Spiritridge Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Spiritridge Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/bellevue-school-district-405/spiritridge-elementary-school/35769"}
