I have included a picture expressing the joy on their faces when they saw the tables filled with cozy, colorful supplies just for them. For some, it was the first new pair of gloves or a warm hat they've had in a long time. The excitement was real—students tugged at their new socks with pride, pulled beanies over their ears with giggles, and tried out the lip balm like they've just been handed gold.\r\n\r\nOne particular student, Mia, my quiet and thoughtful first grader who often comes to school rubbing her hands together for warmth. She doesn't complain, but it's easy to see when she's uncomfortable. When Mia received her new gloves and hat, she was careful to tuck them neatly into her backpack and smiled all day until dismissal. The next morning, she walked in wearing them, cheeks rosy and warm, and told her classmates, \"I got to play outside yesterday and my fingers didn't even hurt.\"\r\n\r\nYour gifts have not only kept our students warm—they feel seen, valued, and cared for. This boost in confidence and comfort allows them to focus on what matters most in our classroom: learning, creating, and connecting with others.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, your donation has inspired us to pay kindness forward. As our next project, my students will host a Mother's Day Tea and Poetry Event. They will write original poems celebrating the women who care for them and create handmade invitations. The warmth and comfort they've received will be reflected in the love they pour into their poetry and presentations. They come to school daily wearing their hats and gloves and their lip balms are kept in their pencil cases so they have them with them. The hand sanitizers are kept at their desks so they use them frequently throughout the day to keep healthy.
