I was able to purchase some beginner books that focus on short vowels that will bridge the gap for students between word reading and connected text. These students are so excited to each have their own copy of text to read from! I was also able to purchase an alphabet game to make learning fun and engaging. A couple of other items were organizing trays for our new materials and stress balls for students that need a safe fidget to help with concentration.\r\n\r\nWe appreciate your support from the bottoms of our hearts. It takes a village to provide for students. The chapter books are for older elementary students who still are having reading difficulties. These books are age appropriate, but not too difficult. My students are also motivated by these texts because there are Accelerated Reader tests available to earn points towards their weekly goals.\r\n\r\nThe alphabet books are being used with kindergarten students who came to school with very little knowledge about the alphabet. These books are a fun and engaging way to expose these students to the entire alphabet while introducing them to books and how books work.
