As soon as the portable paint booths and airbrush machines arrived, the excitement in the classroom was palpable. My students eagerly unpacked the materials and got to work assembling everything themselves—an unplanned but wonderful moment of teamwork and hands-on learning. They couldn't wait to try out the new tools, and their enthusiasm was contagious. One student even said, \"This makes our projects look like they came out of a real shop!\"\r\n\r\nWe used the airbrush systems to finish our CO₂ dragsters, and the results were incredible. In past years, paint jobs were often rushed or uneven, but now students can layer colors, add fine details, and express their personal style with professional-looking finishes. Watching them take so much pride in their work has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my teaching career. They're learning not just about engineering and aerodynamics, but also about presentation, patience, and process.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're planning to apply these same airbrush techniques to 3D-printed projects and custom-designed team trophies. The paint booths have opened up a whole new world of possibilities in our STEM classroom, and I'm so grateful you helped make that happen. Thank you for investing in my students and empowering them to create, build, and thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1739633583965,"projectUrl":"project/fast-wheels-shiny-whips/9054803/","projectTitle":"Fast Wheels & Shiny Whips","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Christ","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1885474_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y100&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1659368157030","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/christscience"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_108676","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":584,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":35,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":46,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"24.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.6,"schoolId":108676,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Southridge Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Southridge Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/moore-public-schools/southridge-junior-high-school/108676"}
