Once I notified the other teachers in my department that these resources arrived, they did not hesitate to come by to my room to pick them up. One of our beginning teachers was so excited, she sent a student to come pick them up since she was in the middle of teaching. The power strips and chargers are heavily utilized since every child in our school has a laptop, and to satisfy the technology standard for our evaluation, we create lessons and assignments that required students to use them daily. Since we have added them to our classroom, there are less interruptions to students learning because of a dead device or waiting to plug it up. My power strips are located around my room so students do not to move and disrupt others during class. While that makes a difference, the biggest impact was in the headphones. Our online textbook and other platforms that we use offer the option to have texts read a-loud to students (even in different languages for our ESL students) and because of the demographic at our school, many cannot afford to have their our personal earbuds, so these headphones have ensured that each child has access to this resource and keep them accountable for their own learning. In my classroom of seniors, they grumble a bit when I take out the box of headphones, but it is mostly a result of knowing that there is no excuse for having not completed a reading or an assignment. Participation has increased in all of our classroom and seeing the impact our administration has even recognized the need for it and will purchase more power strips, chargers, headphones and other needed materials to encourage student engagement. Thank you so much for helping us pave the way and making learning more engaging and accessible for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1738089011410,"projectUrl":"project/supporting-access-to-tech/8960330/","projectTitle":"Supporting Access to Tech","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Covington","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9845193_orig.png?crop=1544,1545,x0,y226&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736434619582","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9845193"},{"teacherId":9342922,"projectId":8676588,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding our Upfront Magazines for the 2024-2025 school year!
