Because of your support for our project Little Hands, Ready to Write, my pre-k students have been eagerly exploring their new handwriting and fine motor materials. The moment we unpacked the Handwriting Without Tears kits, the excitement was contagious as little hands couldn't wait to start building, stamping, and creating letters.\r\n\r\nThe Mat Man books have quickly become a classroom favorite. The children love singing along as we build Mat Man together, and it has been incredible to watch them begin to recognize shapes, body parts, and letters all at once. The Stamp and See kit and magnetic pieces have turned handwriting practice into playtime. Students are learning how letters are formed while strengthening their coordination and confidence.\r\n\r\nDuring small groups, whole-group lessons, and center time, the fine motor sand writing tray and playdough letter cards have given students hands-on ways to explore letter formation. These activities are not only fun but also help build the fine motor strength and control they need for writing success later on. It is wonderful to see them so focused, proud, and engaged in their learning.\r\n\r\nThese materials are perfectly suited for young learners. They are developmentally appropriate, interactive, and joyful. They have brought a whole new level of excitement and purpose to our literacy centers, and I am already seeing growth in how students hold pencils, recognize letters, and express themselves through early writing.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in my students and in the importance of early learning. Your kindness has made a lasting difference in our classroom, and we are so grateful for the tools, laughter, and learning you have made possible.","fullyFundedDate":1755805093812,"projectUrl":"project/little-hands-ready-to-write/9522353/","projectTitle":"Little Hands, Ready to Write!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Brown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp6235006_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1548875953405","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6235006"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55829","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":832,"numTeachers":47,"percentFrplEligible":8,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":71,"percentIndigenous":7,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"17.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":88.1,"schoolId":55829,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jenks Southeast Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Jenks Southeast Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/jenks-public-schools/southeast-elementary-school/55829"}
