The children in my classroom love imaginative play - they utilize the kitchen daily, sometimes throughout the entire free choice time. The kitchen was such an amazing donation and allows for students to \"cook\" and engage with each other by cooking for each other, cooking for the teachers and learning what each item is in the kitchen; such as a stove, oven and microwave. \r\nWhen my children saw the kitchen for the first time, they LOVED it! They all ran over to it, so they all could utilize this area. This area is the focal point of our classroom, we have their kitchen and \"baby\" area together to make a home. This is something that was important to me so children could express themselves and engage with those in the classroom. \r\nThe next steps for my students is to continue on learning about the kitchen, learning about each other's home lives and becoming social.
