My students are now more excited than ever to learn about ancient Greece — they see the myths, gods, and heroes come to life through Percy's adventures. Instead of memorizing facts from a textbook, they get to experience history through stories that feel real and exciting. It's amazing to see how much more they understand and remember when they can connect the myths in the book to the culture and beliefs of ancient civilizations. Our class discussions have become more thoughtful and livelier, and students are making connections between what they read and what we study every day.\r\n\r\nWhat's even more special is how these books have turned many of my reluctant readers into enthusiastic ones. Students who used to avoid reading now beg for \"just one more chapter.\" They're sharing theories, asking questions, and some are even exploring other books about mythology on their own. The Percy Jackson series has done more than just teach them about ancient history — it's helped them fall in love with reading, think more critically, and see that learning can be an adventure in itself.","fullyFundedDate":1754246576040,"projectUrl":"project/igniting-a-love-of-reading-through-myth/9473892/","projectTitle":"Igniting a Love of Reading Through Myth and Adventure","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Brown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9213865_orig.jpg?crop=1361,1361,x0,y117&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692749896068","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/svmsbrown"},{"teacherId":42954,"projectId":9687178,"letterContent":"Receiving these smaller magnadoodles for our special education children will significantly assist them in writing their letters and numbers.
