We opened the boxes together and each time a new package came it was like Christmas for us. One of my friends even said \"I can't believe people would buy us all this new stuff. That was so kind of them. We should work hard and make them proud.\"\r\n One of their favorote items is the number of the day chart. They really like figuring out all of the different ways to represent or show a number. We started our year off learning about place value so the place value and number bond sections really came in handy. At the present time we are working on addition which is another skill the number of day chart helps bring to life. Our new counting to 100 carpet has been another tool the kids have been excited to use during math. It has helped us in areas such as number recognition, number order, place value and addition. \r\n In the future I would love to create another project that would provide my students with the opportunity to have flexible seating options in the classroom. I would also like to include manipulatives in my next project such as foam dice and word building games.","fullyFundedDate":1755520436399,"projectUrl":"project/math-makes-sense/9434614/","projectTitle":"Math Makes Sense","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Straughn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3665342_orig.jpg?crop=1926,1926,x0,y250&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752929594475","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3665342"},{"teacherId":10187625,"projectId":9761121,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations to help make this project successful. From the moment they arrived, the atmosphere in our room changed. What was once a small, crowded reading space has now transformed into a bright, organized, and welcoming library corner that invites every child to explore, imagine, and learn.\r\n\r\nOur classroom library is truly the heart of our room. It's where students develop a love for stories. Before we received the new shelves, our books were stored and stacked wherever we could find space. It was difficult for the children to see what was available. Many wonderful books went unnoticed simply because they were tucked away in piles. Now, with our new shelving, every book is visible, accessible, and inviting. It has made such a difference in the way students choose and care for their reading materials.\r\n\r\nEach morning, students browse through the books, read titles aloud to friends, and talk excitedly about what they plan to read next. The shelves have become more than just storage; they've become a place of community and joy. This gift has truly nurtured their sense of ownership and responsibility.\r\n\r\nHaving a well-organized classroom library supports so many areas of literacy development. Even the seemingly simple work of cleaning paintbrushes was easier with this station as we started the school year with dirty paintbrushes. \r\nMost notably, the magnetic dry erase grid paper has allowed me to model for my students how to use their grid paper journals for sketching, diagram creation, and note-taking as we engage with new science and STEM content.
