Your donation of markers, cushioned seats, hair supplies, snacks, and so much more has made a meaningful difference for my students. In a low-income school district like ours, these resources help create a classroom environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the markers during several class activities, especially when it came to decorating our door for Black History Month to honor all of the African American historical figures who did something \"first\". Recently, my students worked on creating visual responses to the literature we are studying, using the markers to highlight literary devices, symbols, and key quotations. The cushioned seats have also been a HUGE hit! They have helped make our classroom feel more welcoming and flexible, allowing students to choose comfortable spaces when we move into discussion groups or independent work time. The snacks have been especially appreciated as well. For many students, having a quick snack during longer class periods helps them stay focused and engaged. The boy who encouraged me to add snacks to the donation list is extremely grateful to have something to snack on in the mornings. Thank you also for the generous donation of hair ties and hair brushes. These simple items help students quickly feel comfortable and prepared for the day, allowing them to focus more fully on learning. \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were genuinely excited and grateful. Several students immediately asked where everything came from, and they were amazed to hear that people they had never met cared enough to support their learning. It was a great reminder for them that there are people beyond our school who believe in their success.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has made our classroom a more supportive and engaging place to learn. Thank you again for believing in my students and investing in their education.","fullyFundedDate":1769000156325,"projectUrl":"project/care-closet/10044182/","projectTitle":"Care Closet!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rhoades","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10413442"},{"teacherId":10416005,"projectId":10052062,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of bean bags, floor seating, and candy to my 10th grade English class. Your kindness has truly made a difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe bean bags and floor seating have transformed our reading time into something the students genuinely look forward to. They love grabbing a book and settling into the comfortable seating to read. It has created a more relaxed and inviting environment that encourages them to spend more time with their books.\r\n\r\nThe candy was also a wonderful treat and a fun surprise for the students. Small gestures like this help make our classroom feel welcoming and positive.\r\n\r\nYour support helps create a space where students feel comfortable, engaged, and excited about reading. The food, drinks, and personal care items you provided are used daily and intentionally. We've created a small \"care station\" where students can quietly grab a snack, a bottle of water, or a needed hygiene item without drawing attention to themselves. When students first saw the materials, many were surprised and deeply grateful. It was meaningful for them to know someone they've never met cares about their well-being.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped remove barriers that too often stand in the way of learning. Instead of worrying about hunger, thirst, or personal needs, students are better able to concentrate, collaborate, and participate. I've noticed improved focus during lessons, more willingness to engage in discussions, and a greater sense of ease in the room. \r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue integrating this foundation of care into our daily routines and ongoing projects. This project has reinforced a powerful message: they are valued, respected, and worthy of care. Thank you for helping create a classroom where every student can feel safe, supported, and truly ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1769314119030,"projectUrl":"project/wrapped-in-care-meeting-students-basic/10053067/","projectTitle":"Wrapped in Care: Meeting Students’ Basic Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reitz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6870255_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x391,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1570468650787","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6870255"},{"teacherId":10414838,"projectId":10048116,"letterContent":"The students in my classroom have benefited directly from your generosity! The dry erase markers and materials are going to continue to be used on our student desks for engaging lessons. We received new, donated desks recently that have wipeable surfaces so this is perfect. \r\nDuring cold and flu season especially, cleaning supplies are definitely needed to ensure student attendance is a priority. I typically spend a lot of my own money on these products, so having them donated this time is truly a blessing!\r\nAdditionally, we all know that learning can truly take place when students have their basic needs met. The snacks and treats are aiding many of our students who may go without necessary food for nourishment. We often find that they need extra food not only in school, but in the evenings and on weekends when food at home may be scarce.\r\nThe students were delighted to get snacks and are interested in using the markers regularly for lessons. We will all appreciate staying healthy in the months ahead. \r\nGod bless you for your kindness! This can look like a lot of different things: a girl who needs a tampon, someone who hasn't eaten all weekend, or a student who is too anxious to go to class and needs a way to calm down. All of these things impact their learning in ways larger than we can either comprehend. When our students aren't feeling their best - full, calm and clean - they are unable to fully engage with their teachers, peers, and classwork in meaningful, long-lasting ways.\r\n\r\nWhen I first received my project and unpacked it, students were stopping in to ask for things they needed all day, as they usually do. They have come to learn that my office is a resource for them, somewhere they can go where they are safe, not judged, and can get the things that they need. They were able to see all of the new materials that were available to them in their care closet, in my sensory bins and \"take what you need\" areas, and snacks if they are feeling hungry. On the first day of receiving my project, I was able to make a care package for a girl to take home who is struggling with ongoing food insecurity. Because of your generous donation, I am able to provide my students with the things they need to get through the day happy, healthy, and a little better than they may have walked through my door.","fullyFundedDate":1768614856407,"projectUrl":"project/all-about-feelings-feeling-clean-full/10021681/","projectTitle":"All About Feelings - Feeling Clean, Full & Calm!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Weid","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10404474"},{"teacherId":6870255,"projectId":9371012,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our project, Help My Students Become Money Smart Through Games! Because of you, my students will now have the chance to build lifelong financial skills in a way that is fun, engaging, and memorable.\r\n\r\nWith the interactive games you helped fund—like Monopoly, The Game of Life, and the Bank Account Money Game—my students will experience real-world money choices in a safe classroom setting. These activities will give them the chance to practice budgeting, saving, and spending wisely while learning the importance of financial responsibility. For many of my students, this will be their first opportunity to explore financial literacy in such a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nYour gift is making a lasting difference. Instead of just reading about money management, my students will now live it through hands-on play and collaboration. I know these lessons will stay with them well beyond our classroom walls and empower them to make better decisions for their futures.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, thank you again for your kindness and investment in their learning.
