With their support, we were able to purchase a teeter-totter, Giant Connect 4, a toy gas pump with sounds, giant chalkboard flowers to attach to our fence, and sidewalk chalk. These materials have helped transform our outdoor space into a more engaging, interactive environment where students can learn through play.\r\n\r\nThe teeter-totter gives students opportunities to develop balance, coordination, and gross motor skills while also learning to cooperate with a partner. Giant Connect 4 encourages students to practice counting, colors, turn-taking, strategic thinking, and problem-solving. The toy gas pump inspires imaginative play and gives students opportunities to use language, practice social skills, and make connections to experiences they see in their everyday lives. The chalkboard flowers and chalk encourage creativity, early writing skills, drawing, and self-expression.\r\n\r\nBecause of these donors, I am able to provide my students with hands-on experiences that support the whole child. These materials encourage students to be active, curious, creative, and independent while developing important social-emotional, physical, and cognitive skills.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the students are excited to use these new materials. Their smiles, creativity, conversations, and cooperation during outdoor play show how meaningful these opportunities are.
