Your generosity has made a meaningful impact on our students and their ability to explore science, engineering, creativity, and problem-solving in hands-on ways.\r\n\r\nWith the materials you helped provide — including LEGO building sets and Lincoln Logs — our students have been fully engaged in designing, building, testing, and improving their ideas. These activities have gone far beyond simple play. Students have been learning important STEM concepts such as engineering design, structural stability, teamwork, and critical thinking.\r\n\r\nOne of our most exciting projects focused on flooding and flood-prone communities. Students used the building materials to create models of neighborhoods, bridges, levees, elevated homes, and drainage systems. They explored how engineers and communities can work together to reduce flooding and protect homes and roads during heavy rainstorms. Through trial and error, students tested different designs and discussed real-world solutions that could help people living in areas affected by flooding.\r\n\r\nThe excitement and curiosity in the classroom have been incredible to witness. Students who may not always feel confident in traditional academic settings became leaders, innovators, and collaborators during these STEM activities. They learned that failure is part of the engineering process and that creativity and persistence can lead to better solutions.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped create an engaging learning environment where students can imagine, experiment, and grow. The excitement on my students' faces when the stools arrived said it all—they felt seen, supported, and valued.\r\n\r\nThe wobbly stools have already made a positive difference in our learning environment. We use these daily at small group meetings and students are able to check them out for personal use as rewards. They allow students who need movement to stay focused, engaged, and comfortable while learning.
