{"monthlySchoolDonationEnabled":true,"callToActionDisplayName":"Sojourner Truth Independent Study/Elp","outOfStateSupporters":36.4,"allowSchoolLevelGiving":true,"hasFundedProjects":true,"projectGratitudeData":[{"teacherId":7293751,"projectId":9818860,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation to our Poppy Project! \r\n\r\nDuring the Fall semester, with your funding of poppy seeds and soil, our 9th grade students at Sojourner Truth Independent Study High School learned botany, most specifically about seed and plant adaptations to address California's drought and erosion concerns as well as to beautify our urban landscape of Oakland! They used the latex gloves from the project funding to make soil balls to spread seeds around campus and their neighborhoods. \r\n\r\nThis spring, students saw their seeds sprout some even flowering by the end of March! \r\nStudents learned how to scientifically press the California poppy flowers using the blotting paper from the grant produce plant specimens as done in university herbariums to produce plant specimens as done in herbariums. Students also made their own greeting cards from their pressed plants.\r\n\r\nThe goal of POP: Project Oakland Poppy was not only to provide a platform for students to learn about environmental concepts, biodiversity, water resources, native species, pollinators, but to make learning come to life with beautiful, vibrant orange blooms that they have planted in our Oakland urban landscape, as well as a symbol of the Golden State! \r\n\r\nThank you this goal was accomplished because of your generous donations.","fullyFundedDate":1761020206640,"projectUrl":"project/pop-project-oakland-poppy/9818860/","projectTitle":"POP!
