I wanted to take a moment to send a heartfelt thank you for your generous donation of flexible seating to my classroom. Your kindness has truly made a world of difference for my special needs students, especially those who are working hard to build their reading and math skills. I'm so excited to share with you the positive impact your gift has had.\r\n\r\nThis is actually the very first donation I have ever received for my classroom, and I can't tell you how much it means to me and my students. Our school has a limited budget, and often we have to make do with what we have, which can be challenging when trying to meet the unique needs of every learner. Your generosity has brought something new and wonderful into our space that we simply couldn't have afforded on our own.\r\n\r\nBefore the flexible seating arrived, our classroom was a bit like a traditional classroom with just tables and chairs that didn't always meet the unique needs of my amazing students. Many of them find it challenging to focus for long periods, especially when working on reading and math, which can sometimes feel frustrating or overwhelming. Thanks to you, our classroom has transformed into a vibrant, welcoming space where every student can find their perfect spot to learn and grow.\r\n\r\nThe new seating options have been a game changer. I've watched shy students blossom as they find a seat that suits their style, and energetic learners channel their energy in positive ways. One of my students, who used to struggle with sitting still for more than five minutes during reading time, now happily bounces on a wobble stool while sounding out words. It's incredible to see how something as simple as a different chair can unlock so much focus and joy, especially when tackling tricky math problems or reading passages.\r\n\r\nBut it's not just about comfort or movement. The flexible seating has also fostered a sense of independence and choice. My students feel empowered to pick where and how they want to learn each day, which has boosted their confidence and engagement in reading and math lessons. It's like giving them a little bit of control in a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming. And for a group of special needs learners, that's priceless.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has not only improved the physical environment but also enriched the emotional and social atmosphere of our classroom. It's a daily reminder to my students that they are valued, supported, and worthy of a learning space designed just for them. And for that, I am deeply grateful.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness and support. You have made a lasting impact on my students' lives, especially as they work on their reading and math skills, and I'm honored to share their journey with you. I look forward to keeping you updated on their continued growth and successes, all made possible by your thoughtful donation.\r\n\r\nWith warmest thanks and a big smile,","fullyFundedDate":1763320938212,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-for-my-exceptional-stud/9855114/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating for My Exceptional Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ellis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10328201_orig.jpg?crop=2470,2469,x0,y189&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762182031486","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10328201"},{"teacherId":6575167,"projectId":9815194,"letterContent":"I would like to thank you for your generous funding of my project. Because of you, my students are all able to participate in group word lessons. They love to share what they have learned and what they know about letter sounds and words. The magnetic letters are important because they support literacy through hands-on activities that build letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and word-building skills. Manipulating the letters reinforces abstract concepts, develops fine motor skills, and makes learning phonics interactive and engaging for my students.\r\n\r\nDuring whole group instruction, my students have been able to participate and share their work. Moving the letters around has helped reinforce learning and aids in their memory retention. Magnetic letters help make learning fun, interactive, and engaging for my students. We teach skills to share their wants and needs, likes and dislikes, in addition to social, play, and academic skills. One can only imagine how frustrating it would be not to have the skill set to not only say that you want a play, but that you want to play with a specific red car. In our classroom we attempt to provide as many opportunities as possible to make choices and to provide a \"voice\" for our students with both low and high tech alternative and augmentative communication options. Several of our students have not yet found the power of having a \"voice.\" Instead, they throw items, including chairs, when they want their needs met. In their experience, surrounding adults offer a wide variety of things that they like after they engage in tantrums or throw items. Unfortunately, they do not understand that others may be hurt in the process of them communicating their displeasure. The soft seating has been very impactful in our classroom. Our students and staff members are safe from hard chairs being thrown in the classroom, allowing us to focus on teaching functional communication skills to help our students communicate appropriately, which also helps them build relationships with others. Once relationships are established, the students have increased motivation to interact together. We are exceedingly grateful that you chose to support our safety needs and, moreover, a means to focus on all of the other necessary learning that should be taking place at school for our students with level 3 autism. \r\n\r\nThe size of the seats are perfect for our learners. They can sit with the flat side down or with the wedge shape pointed up, enabling them to rock left and right. They are light enough to be transitioned around the classroom, for use at the tables or in the group learning area. We could not ask for anything more! Thank you!","fullyFundedDate":1764956564903,"projectUrl":"project/safe-seating-needed-for-impulsive-learne/9929085/","projectTitle":"Safe Seating Needed for Impulsive Learners With Autism","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Waite","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10362800_orig.jpg?crop=246,246,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764534034930","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10362800"},{"teacherId":540710,"projectId":9439287,"letterContent":"Thank you so very much for your support of our Kindergarten classroom project!
