This project was for supplies that were used at our annual leadership retreat. This is a retreat at which 72 students get to go and learn about themselves, leadership, and each other. The majority of these items went to supply each student with ways to keep track of the weekend, things such as writing utensils and paper. We also had things that have been part of Asheboro for years such as the candles. Then there were items for decorations that went along with our space theme. \r\nThe theme this year was \"one small step\". We challenged our students to take one small step towards their goals and becoming the leaders they can be. Your contributions made this happen. During our STEM activities, students use their folders to keep track of planning sheets, data collection, and reflections, making it much easier for them to stay organized and focused throughout each project.\r\n\r\nWhen the folders arrived, my students were genuinely excited to receive something that was just for them. They immediately labeled and personalized their folders, taking pride in keeping their work neat and organized. It was wonderful to see how such a simple resource encouraged responsibility and ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these folders will support students as they work on collaborative STEM challenges, engineering design projects, and long-term assignments. The equipment has helped our student-athletes feel more confident and excited when competing. One special moment that stood out was when one of our players, who had never hit a triple before in her life, used the donated bat and hit the first triple of her softball career. Seeing her excitement and confidence after that moment was incredible, and it motivated the rest of the team as well. The new equipment has not only improved performance, but it has also helped build confidence and enthusiasm throughout the program.\r\n\r\nThe students were amazed and extremely excited when they first saw the materials. Many of them had never seen or used such high-quality equipment before, especially the bat. They immediately noticed the difference and were excited about the amount of \"pop\" the bat had when making contact. Almost the entire team wanted to try it, and they were thrilled with the results they saw during practice and games. The players were also very excited about the equipment bag and batting tee. The bag helped make carrying equipment much easier and was large enough to hold multiple items, which was a huge help for the team. The batting tee quickly became a favorite during practice because the girls loved how durable and reliable it was, even with constant use.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for our students are continuing to build on the confidence, teamwork, and skills they developed this season. We plan to continue using the donated equipment during offseason workouts, conditioning, and skill development sessions so players can continue improving their fundamentals and preparing for next year. Our goal is to help athletes continue growing both academically and athletically while creating opportunities for them to build leadership, discipline, and confidence through softball. The resources provided by our donors will continue to impact our program long after this season and will help future players have the same opportunities to succeed and enjoy the game.","fullyFundedDate":1762559230978,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-team-swing-for-success/9705100/","projectTitle":"Help Our Team Swing for Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Adams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10253466"},{"teacherId":2952097,"projectId":9516589,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations.
