They loved watching the caterpillars grow and build chrysalises. We read about them, learned how to care for them, measured them daily, recorded our observations, and discovered where they would go when they developed into butterflies. We even had students from other classes popping in every morning to check on the babies. This project caused quite the positive stir in our little school family! \r\n\r\nWe also greatly enjoyed the painting side of this project. Since we are in such a small school without funding for an art program, a large majority of my students had never even held a paintbrush. With the help of some online tutorials and the materials you provided in this project, every single third grader was able to paint the stages of a butterfly life cycle from egg to larvae, chrysalis to butterfly. I wish you could have seen how proud they were of themselves to become artists. It was the highlight of my year!\r\n\r\nThank you so much for making this project possible. I know this was an experience that the children and I will remember fondly for years and years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1743606764270,"projectUrl":"project/our-imaginations-soar-while-raising-butt/9211192/","projectTitle":"Our Imaginations Soar While Raising Butterflies!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9980855"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_13444","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":564,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":76,"percentIndigenous":19,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":62.9,"schoolId":13444,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Skyline School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Skyline School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alabama/jackson-county-school-district/skyline-school/13444"}
