I teach grades 1-3 and the Kwik Stix are perfect for the age group. I have 750 students and have a $300 budget before fundraising and donations, so having this project funded was huge and allowed me to have a medium that I would otherwise not be able to have for my students. \r\n\r\n Students in first grade are able to create art with bright colors that covers their paper and has a big impact! Students in second and third grader have been able to add details to mixed media projects. The paint sticks dry quickly, so we are able to use them and still take art home the same day, which the kids are very excited about! \r\n\r\nI have used the paint sticks weekly since school started. First grade created a piece that displayed their name with abstract shapes and bright colors of their choice. During this project they practiced leaving no white space and controlling their medium. This medium allows first grade students to feel successful and it is perfect for their current fine motor skills. They have also used paint sticks to add dimension and texture to collage pumpkins. Third grade students used paint sticks in a project to paint lines that showed movement and texture. Using the paint sticks allowed them to experiment with this with a more controlled medium and to be able to complete the project in one class period.","fullyFundedDate":1783645621261,"projectUrl":"project/tempera-qwik-stix-for-elementary-student/10331764/","projectTitle":"Tempera Qwik Stix for Elementary Students!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Phillips","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8543189_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778335824584","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8543189"},{"teacherId":8491393,"projectId":9401882,"letterContent":"The students have enjoyed working on the classroom ABC carpet so much!
