Becuase of you, my students have become curious abot the new books and stories within them. The books from this list are about diversity and inclusivity, as well as being targeted for teens. The students rea really engaged and enjoying the books. We have developed one day a week where we have a silent reading period. Students sign out a book from the classroom library or bring in a book from somewhere else and have the abilbity to just read for fun. They do not have to add any extra assignemnts to it, until they are finished with the book. We then just have a book talk and have a casual conversatoin where the kids can express themselves and explain to me how the story affected them. \r\n\r\nIn addition, these books have encouraged some of my reluctatn readers.
