Our school has many celebrations throughout the year. One of them is National Children's Day. I asign a topic to students based on grade level. My students have used the new technology for their research projects on their assigned topic.\r\n Our school has testing four times per year. There are multiple areas of testing for each grade level that is in my classroom. My students are only able to go to the computer lab on their assigned specials day which this year is on Tuesdays. I try not to have their whole day be about testing. It has helped significantly to have the new computers for students to take their assessments on other days outside of their computer day.\r\n We are truly appreciative of the computers we have received. We do many mini research projects in 4th and 5th grade. We have a computer lab that is available to us, but only on designated days. This lets them have the extra time they need to finish any reports we have due without the pressure of a certain amount of time in the lab. They also give all of the students access to the skills that are required for our grade level.
