Your support provides my students with the hands-on materials they need to bridge the gap between scientific theory and artistic expression.\r\n\r\nI wanted to share a wonderful update on how the air dry clay is being used in our classroom. While I originally planned for the students to create traditional gargoyles, their creativity took over, and they were far more excited to design and build their own unique statues. I quickly realized that the core learning objectives remained the same regardless of the statue's form. The students have been deeply engaged in the process of sculpting, which serves as the foundation for our upcoming lesson on earth science and chemistry.\r\n\r\nWe are discussing how fine details are smoothed away and how tiny cracks and fissures, caused by chemical reactions or frost wedging (water freezing and expanding), eventually lead to pieces of a sculpture chipping and breaking off. Having a physical model they created themselves makes the concept of stone degradation much more personal and memorable.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, we are looking forward to integrating the liquid density kit as we transition into our unit on matter. This kit will allow students to explore the physical properties of different substances, helping them understand the \"why\" behind the composition of the materials we see in our world every day.\r\n\r\nYour investment in our classroom has sparked a new level of enthusiasm for science. Because the headphones include microphones, my students who struggle with reading are now able to fully participate in our online reading program by reading aloud and receiving feedback. This opportunity has helped them practice important literacy skills while building confidence in their reading abilities. Headphones also help students stay focused and block out distractions, allowing them to engage more deeply with digital learning activities and audio-based lessons.  Thanks to the generosity of the donors, my students have access to tools that support individualized learning and give them opportunities to grow as readers every day.\r\n\r\nThe presentation clicker and Apple keyboard have also had a positive impact on our classroom. The clicker allows me to move freely around the room while teaching, giving me better proximity to my students and helping keep them engaged while I can still change slides from anywhere in the classroom. This has improved both interaction and classroom engagement during lessons. In addition, the Apple keyboard has made it much easier for me to lesson plan from my iPad, allowing me to type and organize materials more efficiently.
