It is amazing what an impact matching bins and uniform storage can make! \r\n\r\nThese materials have made it so much easier for my students to independently find their materials and put them away. Having bins all the same size means there is no confusion over which lid belongs to which bin or where the bins can be stored so they fit on shelves. This project has allowed my incoming first grade students to quickly identify their materials and independently put them away after using. \r\n\r\nThe new whiteboards have also been a great addition to the classroom so students can practice their phonics and math skills on clean boards with no leftover marks from previous classes that won't erase. The students share the materials using headphone splitters and enjoy chatting about the stories with their friends. Kids are also revisiting classic books since we have Yoto cards for those, and then they go and find those books to enjoy from our class library! \r\n\r\nThe kids love the versatility of the Yoto players. They have many options of things to do on them - podcast style cards, story cards, a kid friendly radio station, and a kid friendly 'daily news' station. In the school day, kids do not always have autonomy over how they spend their time. Being able to choose what kind of listening they are doing has been immensely powerful and exciting to the kids. Some students use them while they are drawing, and other students use them as a \"mental break\" - they will listen to them and just sit and rest their bodies for a moment. It's a long school day and they are still so little.
