This helps them better understand relationships between equations, tables, and graphs while strengthening their problem-solving and reasoning skills.\r\nStudents are especially excited about seeing their mathematical thinking come to life on the screen. The only complaint about the event was that the old speaker was not loud enough. Now this will not be an issue. When I took students in for a trial run after the fact, the new speaker is so much louder and you can hear so much better. The sound quality gives it a more immersive experience due to the bass that enhances the videos and makes them more exciting. The yoga cushion and the lab desk have been an amazing additions for the teacher to be able to sit in there all day when we take all of our classes inside for our in-school field trips. The lanterns have defintely helped with being able to get in and out safely. The remote that is able to power them both at the same time is amazingly helpful so we can place them where we need them and control them with the remote after entry and before exit. The students have had the best time utilizing the lab and we are so thankful for the enhancements to bring a better experience in for our students. They were super curious about what they were when they first saw them. Then thier faces lit up when they saw the graph start to move when they moved. They thought it was so cool and had so much fun seeing data in real-time. They practiced seeing what happens on a graph when they complete different actions such as moving at a constant speed, stopping, moving quickly, and moving back to start just to see what happens to the motion graph. Then they were given a scenario and they had to create a motion graph to match the desciption of the motion in the scenario they were given. Afterwards, students created their own motion descriptions and had others try to create a graph to match their motion description. \r\nThis activity is just one of the many I can use these sensors for. I am excited to see what other labs I can flip or incorporate now that I have the technology to do so. Students had the best time trying to compete against each other while they were figuring out which way to throw the ball to give it the best trajectory for success. They really had to adjust the angle and force used to try and get the ball into the different tubes to complete thier tic tac toe. The students have certainly enjoyed having an additional Chromebook to use in our classroom when theirs is down for numerous reasons. It has helped keep learning moving forward no matter what is going on. The sensors have been an amazing addition to flip some additional physics labs and make them more tech advanced. This will help students if they go into certain fields as they are getting experience reading real-time data. It has helped them determine why lines move the way they do in motion graph reading. They can add them into water bottle rockets that are built and get accurate data for when they are in the air and coming down. We can also add the temperature probes to get accurate data on boiling points and more. They are so versatile that I cannot wait to find new ways to use them. The chargers have been so helpful for students that have lost their chargers. I also keep a few of them in the room so students that just need to charge but didn't bring thier charger can just borrow it for the class period and charge their device. We cannot wait to begin to use it with all of our classes so that all of our students will get to have these immersive experiences multiple times throughout their middle school years at our school. It would not have even been possible to be this far without you, as the computer is at the forefront of the experience.
