Students can see what I'm modeling on the board without me standing in the way, and they've been more engaged in our lessons. Being nearby also makes it easier to give quiet reminders and redirect students without stopping instruction.\r\n\r\nIt has been so much fun to use this tool and see the difference it makes in our day! Your support provided me with an iPad that I use for instruction. \r\n\r\nBefore receiving the iPad, I was often at the front of the classroom. While that worked, it limited my ability to move around the room and provide students with immediate, individualized support. Now, I can walk around the classroom, continue explaining a lesson, demonstrate problems, and model strategies without being tied to one location. I can also zoom in on individual problems or examples so students can clearly see the details of what I am teaching. This has been especially helpful when working through multi-step problems or demonstrating concepts that require students to pay attention to specific details.\r\n\r\nThe iPad has also improved the way students experience instruction from their seats. I am no longer standing directly in front of the board or projected lesson and unintentionally blocking someone's view. Students can see the entire lesson clearly without having to wait for me to move out of the way. I can teach from different areas of the classroom while keeping the instructional material visible to everyone. This creates a smoother learning experience and allows students to remain focused on the lesson rather than worrying about whether they can see what is being presented. The ability to move around also means I can quickly notice when a student needs help and provide assistance right away. This has helped me create a classroom where students receive more individualized attention without sacrificing whole-group instruction. My students have really enjoyed this new approach as well. They appreciate having their teacher nearby when they have questions or need assistance. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has provided a tool that I will be able to use every day to help my students learn, participate, and feel supported.","fullyFundedDate":1787199802924,"projectUrl":"project/technology-and-student-support/10249259/","projectTitle":"Technology and Student Support","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gordon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9434193_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1777780961327","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9434193"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41545","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":365,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":61,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":58,"percentIndigenous":10,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":20,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":64.7,"schoolId":41545,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sherrod Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sherrod Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alaska/mat-su-borough-school-district/sherrod-elementary-school/41545"}
