Unexpected for me, was how much they absolutely love the microphone attached to the piano. Students who previously did not visit our dramatic play area despite turning it into a rock band and stage were suddenly interested and found their voice to sing along with their peers. \r\n\r\nThe students were eager to play both the positional word games. The props are a novelty and they can't wait to play with them when I get the games out. It has made learning something not so interesting, interactive and fun. I had 100% engagement, even from my three year olds. \r\n\r\n\"The Runaway Pancake\" has made its way into our morning book box and it's chosen everyday for a quick read before morning cicle. For those students who are dual language learners a book like this is one of the first they learn to retell in English because the chorus is repetitive and great for sequencing. For everyone else I have reports from their parents of them reciting the book at home.
