These calculators had features that our current calculators didn't have. We were able to finally have enough for a classroom set. Every day, as students walk in, they grab a calculator from the calculator sleeves and begin the problem of the day. Before, students had to wait for others to finish in order to then borrow the calculators. We received bright yellow calculators, which are usually designated for schools, so students are no longer confused which calculators belong to the school. This helps prevent calculators from disappearing.\n\n I'm not saying that the calculators were the only reason, but our students' math scores grew massively on the standardized state test. Having the calculators, and understanding how to use them, played a huge part in their scores increasing.","fullyFundedDate":1684802133989,"projectUrl":"project/new-calculators-needed-for-math/7269295/","projectTitle":"New Calculators Needed for Math","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Flowers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8997698"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_125338","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":280,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":48,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"5 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"11.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":0.0,"schoolId":125338,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Shenandoah Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Shenandoah Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/iowa/shenandoah-community-school-district/shenandoah-middle-school/125338"}
