Already, I have given out three of the student planners to help with organization, remembering due dates for assignments, and preparing for upcoming tests and quizzes. \r\nMy freshmen began reading \"Romeo and Juliet\" last week. The graphic novels have really helped not only my EL students, but everyone else as well. The simplified text, combined with the vibrant images, is helping them to better understand the difficult language, and their engagement is much higher than in years past. We read each scene in the original language, and then students volunteer to read the parts, and we reread the scene from the graphic novels. It has been a lot of fun!\r\n\r\nThank you so much for helping me create these memorable moments for my students!","fullyFundedDate":1745328116742,"projectUrl":"project/grab-that-attention/9196411/","projectTitle":"Grab That Attention!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sanderson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9771250_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746159428510","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9771250"},{"teacherId":9771250,"projectId":9304897,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support! \r\n\r\nI wish I could bring you into my classrooms and let you see these tough high school kids turn into first graders when they use the lap/floor desks. I have had to rearrange my room to create a larger open area for large and small groups to use these desks. They rock and wiggle and giggle, but then they settle in and work. \r\nAfter a few weeks, they have realized that if they are working independently or in small groups, they can quickly grab a few and get going without disrupting the rest of the room by shifting desks or asking if someone would mind trading seats. \r\nI showed my classes the set of headphones, and everyone was thoroughly impressed and appreciative! I was able to find some small, clear, stackable drawers to keep them neat and organized. A few of my students have difficulty focusing if there is too much chatter around them, so they use a set most days to listen to music while they work.\r\nWhen my speech class begins their independent speech analysis, having a full set will be an incredible asset, and I am so grateful to have them.","fullyFundedDate":1746786089798,"projectUrl":"project/locked-in-on-learning/9304897/","projectTitle":"Locked in on Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sanderson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9771250_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746159428510","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9771250"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_52388","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":802,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":44,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":84,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"22.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.8,"schoolId":52388,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Shelley High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Shelley High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/idaho/shelley-joint-school-district-60/shelley-senior-high-school/52388"}
