Your donation has impacted each of my 300 STEM students! I see my 2nd, 3rd, and 6th grade classes once per week. My 4th and 5th graders visit twice weekly. During each class, students work along with the classmates at their group to earn points. Points are earned for being on task, following directions, working together, etc. These points are tallied on a board in the class and students are very motivated to see how their points compare to other classes in their grade...or sometimes to a sibling's class as well. \r\n Every two months students are able to \"cash in\" their points for a prize. I put my prizes in trays by tier. There are 5 trays of prizes, with the first tray being the smaller more basic prizes. And each tier of prizes gets a bit more exciting and bigger. Basically, the more points you have earned, the better your choices are for a prize. Students can choose one prize from any tray up through their point total. Slime was by far the MOST exciting and coveted prize choice! \r\n Prize week is a very exciting one! We recently wrapped up our prize week for September and October points. This motivated many students to be more on task, as we started a new point collection for November and December. The prizes I received through your donation will continue to be offered on upcoming prize days throughout the school year. I also use some of the smaller prizes, such as the stickers as day-to-day prizes to reward students that follow the rules, when many others are not. It's so nice to have a collection of prizes ready to go, to help keep my 300 students motivated to look, listen, and learn each day in STEM class. At least that's what they tell me.\r\n\r\nIt is so nice to know that people like yourselves care about students keeping their work neat and tidy.
