First, I read the story of Peter Rabbit to my class and they were tickled pink to hold their own copies of the book in their laps as I read. It was magical how they listened so intently. When I go to the part with Mr. MacGregor's cat in the garden, my students shouted with glee, \"I see it, Ms. Defley, I see it!\" After putting their names in their books. we went outside and planted the seeds in the prepared bed and collected straw. Lastly, we had a picnic to celebrate our class garden.\r\n\r\nSince that time, we have watched the seeds sprout and grow. We even have radishes now! The boys and girls run to the garden every day at recess to check on the plants and exclaim with joy, \"They're growing!\" Their little faces just shine.
