The new seating options have truly transformed the way we learn and work together.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new seats, their faces lit up with excitement. One student immediately whispered, \"This is like a fun library!\"—and that set the tone for the day. The room was full of curiosity as they tried out different seats and found spaces that made them feel comfortable, focused, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nSince then, we've been using the flexible seating during reading groups, writing workshops, and collaborative projects. One of my favorite moments so far was during our recent writing unit: students chose their own spots around the room and settled into their work with an independence and sense of ownership that was new for them. They are learning how to make choices that help them do their best thinking—a skill we'll keep building all year.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be starting a research project where students will work in small groups to create posters and short presentations about animals and their habitats. The flexible seating will give them space to collaborate, plan, and share ideas in ways that are comfortable and student-centered.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping create a classroom environment where students love to learn!","fullyFundedDate":1691675526557,"projectUrl":"project/adventures-in-comfort-flexible-seating/7498106/","projectTitle":"Adventures in Comfort: Flexible Seating in Our First Grade Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Whittaker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1523900_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1505164238475","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1523900"},{"teacherId":9704145,"projectId":9219345,"letterContent":"My students have been using these resources and playing these games since they arrived.
