These new texts introduce skills such as exploring character traits, making predictions, and building stamina as independent readers but most importantly, they help students rediscover that reading can be joyful. In our classroom, \"reading time\" means students spread out with their chosen books, fully engaged, chatting quietly about plots, characters, and funny moments they discover. Because these aren't assigned texts, students feel free to follow their interests, take risks with new genres, and practice the reading habits that lifelong readers use naturally.\r\n\r\nThe impact on specific students has been wonderful to watch. Many refer to these books as their \"fun books,\" and they proudly swap recommendations with classmates, cheering each other on to try a favorite story. A few reluctant readers who once avoided independent reading now come to me excited to share what they've discovered or to ask for suggestions on what to read next. Your donation didn't just put books on a shelf it created a classroom culture where reading is something students want to do. Thank you for helping make that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1755624600834,"projectUrl":"project/leveling-up-our-library-representation/9349455/","projectTitle":"Leveling Up Our Library: Representation Matters for Every Reader","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sellers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9812917_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746039597512","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/casey-sellers"},{"teacherId":9812917,"projectId":9301930,"letterContent":"Thanks to your support, our classroom has been transformed into a more flexible, student-centered learning environment. The tall standing table and rolling chairs have quickly become favorite spots for students who need movement or simply prefer working at a different height. This alternative seating helps students stay focused, comfortable, and engaged during independent work, partner activities, and small-group discussions. It has also encouraged students to take more ownership of their learning by choosing the workspace that helps them do their best thinking.\r\n\r\nThe large storage cabinet has made an equally meaningful impact. With the new cabinet, we are now able to keep materials neatly organized, protected, and easy for students to access. Supplies that were once stacked in crowded areas now have a permanent home, helping them last longer and stay in good condition. Students have noticed the difference too they are more responsible with materials and appreciate having a clean, orderly classroom. Your generosity didn't just provide furniture; it created a calmer, more efficient learning space where students can thrive. Thank you for making this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1755624600564,"projectUrl":"project/less-mess-more-success-flexible-seatin/9301930/","projectTitle":"Less Mess, More Success: Flexible Seating and Smart Storage","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sellers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9812917_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746039597512","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/casey-sellers"},{"teacherId":5647333,"projectId":9306906,"letterContent":"My \"Book Nook\" supplies came in at the perfect time to set up my classroom for the new year!
