We use it every day for whole group lessons, read alouds, morning meetings, math discussions, and collaborative learning. The carpet gives my students a comfortable and inviting space where they can gather together, share ideas, and learn from one another. One special moment was watching my students gather on the carpet for our first read-aloud. They were so excited to have a special place to sit together, and it immediately helped create a warm classroom community.\r\nMy students were SO excited when they first saw the new carpet! They immediately wanted to sit on it and were amazed that something so simple could make our classroom feel so different. They said things like, \"This is our special learning spot!\" and \"It feels like our classroom is complete!\" Their excitement reminded me how meaningful it is to provide students with a classroom environment where they feel comfortable, valued, and excited to learn.\r\nOur next steps are to continue using our carpet as a central gathering place as we build our classroom community and begin our first grade learning routines. Students will use the space for math talks, phonics and reading lessons, partner discussions, and sharing their thinking with classmates. As we move into more collaborative projects, the carpet will provide a place for students to listen, communicate, problem solve, and celebrate one another's learning.
