Your support has made it possible for my students to use their imaginations to create some amazing builds in the Lego club. Each set this project helped purchase now has a waiting list because the students are so excited to have new opportunities to build new sets. Some of the sets are so big that they have fostered a group effort. Specifically, the Disney/Pixar Up house has four students working together to get Carl's house off the ground. It is inspiring to see students collaborating on a project. Group work is often challenging in my actual classes, but the Lego club makes it look easy.\r\n\r\nThe students in the club were more than excited to receive the sets from this project. Their eyes grew wider with each delivery and twinkled with the expectation of future builds. Some could not wait for me to open the boxes and inventory the bricks. One student volunteered to move that process along faster so that he could build a set sooner rather than later. HA! Oddly enough, some of the sets have inspired some students to imagine their own creations. For example, one student liked the owl in the magical creatures set but did not like its purple color. This student has now taken it upon himself to build the same owl, using the instructions that came with the set, in his favorite color, yellow. \r\n\r\nNow that we have received all the sets the Lego club is running better than ever before. There is now a set to fit everyone's interests. Another bonus is the fact that most of the sets were 3-in-1 Creator sets, which gives students the opportunity to choose a build that fits them the most. One student may choose a build, build it, then tear it all apart to begin a new build with the same bricks. \r\n\r\nSome of the students in the club will be building sets to display at an upcoming spring art showcase. They are proud of the work they complete in the Lego club and want to show off their skills to family and friends. Each set they complete builds confidence that I am sure is transferring to other parts of their lives. You all made this happen with your donation and we thank you from the bottom of our brick hearts!","fullyFundedDate":1765424790655,"projectUrl":"project/a-lego-club-is-a-place-for-all-learners/9892524/","projectTitle":"A LEGO Club is a Place for ALL Learners!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Thomas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8429709"},{"teacherId":10178820,"projectId":9599136,"letterContent":"I decided to use the book shelf, the shelf, and the bean bag to make my students a library/ calming corner. They can also ask for a break when they feel frustrated or overwhelmed and go to that corner as well. \r\n\r\nThis corner has helped decrease the amount of behaviors we have daily. It has also helped descalate students faster whenever they do have behaviors.
