The students started using the instruments during the month of September, and they were extremely happy to be able to hear music that they were making themselves. We did a lot of singing while playing with the drums, tambourines, and xylophones. All of the students are severe-profound special needs students, and this was the first time in 4 years that we had dedicated instruments for the classroom. It was extremely enjoyable watching them and seeing them smile non-stop. \r\n There was a break from using the instruments at the end of September. I was assigned a new class and another teacher was rotated into the cluster room. I made sure that the instruments stayed a part of the students' curriculum, and the new teacher was very pleased with the donation, too. \r\n The students are currently using them during their dedicated music time and showing off their new skills to the other students in the library. Hopefully, next semester, they will be able to put on a little show for the entire school during an assembly.","fullyFundedDate":1718821623748,"projectUrl":"project/wonderful-students-in-need-of-music-in-t/8234701/","projectTitle":"Wonderful Students in Need of Music in Their Day","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Gob","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/christopher-anderson"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_103648","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":951,"numTeachers":51,"percentFrplEligible":79,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":30,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":68,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"18.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":74.4,"schoolId":103648,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sarah E Goode STEM Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sarah E Goode STEM Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/chicago-public-school-district-299/sarah-e-goode-stem-academy/103648"}
