Students use the space throughout the school day when they need a calm place to regulate their emotions, take a break, talk through a difficult situation, or simply reset before returning to class.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, they were immediately excited and curious. They wanted to explore the sensory tools, try out the different items, and see what had been added to the space. One of my favorite moments has been watching students begin to recognize which tools work best for them. Some students gravitate toward fidgets or other sensory materials while we talk, while others benefit from having a snack and a few quiet minutes to regroup. These resources help make the Wellness Center feel welcoming, safe, and supportive.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, students will continue learning and practicing strategies for identifying their emotions, managing stress, solving problems, and choosing healthy coping skills. My goal is for students to become more independent in recognizing what they need and selecting a strategy or sensory tool that helps them feel ready to return to learning.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping create a space where students can feel supported, cared for, and successful.
