The Bee-Bot and Blue-Bot have already sparked curiosity and boosted confidence in problem-solving and technology.\r\n\r\nWe launched our CODE QUEENS initiative for girls in grades 3–5, and these tools allowed students to not just \"play\" with technology, but to understand programming concepts like sequencing, debugging, and logical thinking. Several students who were previously hesitant to engage in STEM activities came alive while collaborating to program robots through designed paths. One student said, \"I didn't know coding could be like a puzzle I get to solve with friends!\"\r\n\r\nI've also been able to introduce foundational coding concepts during our weekly media specials, creating small centers where students rotate between digital and tactile tech tasks. The hands-on nature of the Bee-Bot helped even my younger and reluctant learners make meaningful connections. We will continue using these tools throughout the year to develop computational thinking and prepare for more complex projects in our after-school coding club.","fullyFundedDate":1755640630015,"projectUrl":"project/buzzing-into-coding-with-bee-bot-and-blu/9624783/","projectTitle":"Buzzing Into Coding with Bee-Bot and Blue-Bot!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1405090_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749238438708","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/latoya-jones"},{"teacherId":1405090,"projectId":9401139,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our Code Queens coding club kicked off with excitement and curiosity! The new tools have already made a big difference in how students approach coding. Botley the Coding Robot was the perfect way to begin. We started with unplugged activities, giving Botley step-by-step directions to introduce the logic of coding in a fun, hands-on way. This helped my students see that coding is not just about computers, but about thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.\r\n\r\nThe headsets and wireless mice are giving them the confidence to work independently on coding platforms, while the stickers and fun extras are helping build a strong sense of identity in our club. The girls are so proud to call themselves Code Queens, and the energy in the room when they collaborate, test ideas, and celebrate successes is inspiring.\r\n\r\nYour support has made it possible for my students to see themselves as creators and coders.
