We are using these resources daily during small-group instruction and learning centers, where students can actively engage by building words, counting, sorting, and problem-solving instead of only working on paper. One of my favorite moments was watching a student who usually struggles stay focused and excited as they successfully completed an activity independently using the new materials.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were thrilled. Their eyes lit up as we opened the boxes together, and they couldn't wait to explore everything inside. They immediately wanted to touch, try, and talk about what they were learning. The excitement carried over into our lessons, and students have shown increased confidence, participation, and willingness to try—even when tasks feel challenging.\r\n\r\nThese resources will continue to support our current lessons as we strengthen foundational reading and math skills. Students are now working toward applying what they've learned in more complex activities, such as building complete sentences, solving word problems, and collaborating with classmates during learning stations. Thank you for giving my students tools that make learning meaningful, engaging, and fun. Your support truly makes a lasting difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1763490631058,"projectUrl":"project/learning-by-doing-growing-by-learning/9508503/","projectTitle":"Learning by Doing, Growing by Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Montemayor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9770030_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y86&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753737521948","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9770030"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_8156","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":212,"numTeachers":10,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":93,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"21.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":69.2,"schoolId":8156,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about San Perlita School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"San Perlita School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/san-perlita-independent-school-district/san-perlita-school/8156"}
