Your generosity truly made a difference! When my students first saw the snacks and supplies, they were so excited. It may seem simple, but having these items ready to go has brought a lot of joy and motivation into our daily routine. In our classroom, snacks like Goldfish, gummies, and pretzels are used as rewards to encourage students to practice important skills like communication, following directions, and interacting with others. These small incentives go a long way in helping my students stay engaged and feel successful.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was when a student who usually struggles to communicate was able to independently request a snack using their communication system. It was such a big win for them, and you could see how proud they felt. Moments like that are why these resources matter so much; they help turn learning into something positive and rewarding. The cleaning supplies have also been incredibly helpful in keeping our classroom clean and safe, which is so important for all of our students.\r\n\r\nWe're excited to keep using these materials as we continue working on communication, social skills, and independence. As students grow more confident, we'll keep building on these skills and celebrating their progress along the way. Thank you again for being part of our classroom. You've helped create a space where my students feel supported, motivated, and proud of themselves every day.","fullyFundedDate":1765982236471,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-grow-with-snacks-and-smiles/9625628/","projectTitle":"Help Us Grow with Snacks and Smiles!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hernandez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3759197_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1504940776483","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/missjudyhernandez"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_7155","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":534,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":94,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.5,"schoolId":7155,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about San Fernando Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"San Fernando Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/san-fernando-middle-school/7155"}
