As a charter school, we are a school of choice. Students typically come here because they experienced academic, social and emotional hardships at their previous school. When students experience such trauma, they typically will transfer their emotions and behavior to their new school to keep their guard up. Your donation was to helped us incentivize students and encourage others to exhibit positive behaviors and reinforce them. \r\n\r\nWhen I showed the students all the prizes, their eyes lit up! All the staff members could see their brains start to click in ways they could obtain and earn these prizes. Throughout the process, we could see that not only were they excited about earning these prizes but it also encouraged them to have positive peer to peer relationships to uplift one another. \r\n\r\nIn having these donations, not only does it help our students, but all the staff members as well. One of the big contributing factors is learning what worked for the students and developing more ideas to increase positive behavior, academics and attendance in the classroom.
