Your support has made an immediate and tangible difference in our daily learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe Impact of Modern Tools\r\nBefore this donation, my classes were navigating a significant challenge: we had only 8 calculators to share among 35 students. This meant that during critical lab moments, students spent more time waiting for their turn to calculate than they did analyzing their results.\r\n\r\nWith these new calculators, that bottleneck has vanished. Now, students can move through their data analysis with confidence and speed.\r\n\r\nHow We Are Using Them\r\nThese calculators are already being put to work across all three grade levels:\r\n\r\n6th Grade: Calculating the density of unknown objects to identify various materials.\r\n\r\n7th Grade: Analyzing energy transfer and calculating the force required to move objects in our physics units.\r\n\r\n8th Grade: Processing complex chemical reaction data and graphing trends in our environmental science modules.\r\n\r\nEfficiency in the Lab\r\nThe most exciting change I've witnessed is how much more meaningful work students are getting done. Because they aren't stuck waiting for equipment, they are finishing their calculations early enough to engage in deeper discussions about why the data looks the way it does. We are shifting from \"doing math\" to \"interpreting science.\"\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and providing them with the tools they need to act—and think—like real scientists.","fullyFundedDate":1761691261702,"projectUrl":"project/calculators-for-physics/9574760/","projectTitle":"Calculators for Physics","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Stahl","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9235834"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41785","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":520,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":43,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.2,"schoolId":41785,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Russell Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Russell Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/colorado-springs-school-district-11/russell-middle-school/41785"}
