By participating in high-quality professional development, I will gain new tools and strategies that foster collaboration, critical thinking, and curiosity in the classroom. I look forward to sharing what I learn with my school community to support school-wide improvement in student learning.\r\n\r\nYour support also gives me the opportunity to reflect more deeply on my own teaching practice. These cushions allow students to choose how and where they learn best—whether sitting on the floor, wiggling gently during a lesson, or using them for back support during longer activities. The ability to move and adjust helps students stay engaged and comfortable throughout the day.\r\nThe cushions have also proven to be incredibly versatile. We've used them during outdoor learning or emergency drills when students need a clean, comfortable place to sit on the ground. Indoors, they've replaced traditional carpet seating, giving each student a personal space during group lessons. During Reader's Workshop, the cushions are especially loved—students spread out around the room, find cozy spots, and settle in with their books, creating an inviting and relaxed atmosphere that encourages a love of reading.\r\nOverall, this donation has not only added comfort to our classroom but has also supported flexible, student-centered learning. The cushions have given students more ownership over their learning spaces and have contributed to a positive, calm, and collaborative classroom environment.","fullyFundedDate":1742823971081,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating/9006666/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rivas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1315889_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1486839096849","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/teresarivas"},{"teacherId":1324262,"projectId":8155704,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for your support to my project. When my students first saw the tree bookcase, their faces lit up with excitement. One student exclaimed, \"It looks like a little forest just for us!\" They eagerly explored the books on social-emotional learning, flipping through the pages and sharing what they learned about kindness and mindfulness. The bean bags, tree stump stools, and rug quickly became favorite spots for quiet reflection. One student shared, \"This is my new favorite place in the classroom—it feels peaceful.\"\r\n\r\nThe calming corner has already supported my students in countless ways. For instance, during a busy day, a student who was feeling overwhelmed chose to sit in the corner with the expandable ball and practice deep breathing. The visual reminders on the posters have also been helpful tools for students to independently use relaxation techniques when they need a moment to reset.\r\n\r\nThanks your generosity, this project has had a profound impact on our classroom.
