Thanks to our DonorsChoose supporters, we received the fertilizer, tools, seeds, and every essential item we needed to launch our new garden center at the Adult Transition Program for adult students with disabilities. We've been busy transforming our outdoor space, which has involved setting up the planters, figuring out the perfect sunlit location, and working together to get the soil and dirt properly situated using our brand-new tools. We are still in the rewarding process of getting everything set up, but the potential of this project is already visible.\r\n\r\nThe students' response has been immediate and enthusiastic; they are ready to get on the ground and start digging the moment they approach the planters. We look forward to realizing our vision for a fun, thematic garden based on the holidays of the year, and growing beautiful flowers, plants, and essential herbs we can use directly in our campus cooking lessons. Our dedicated gardening time will be every Wednesday after lunch, where students will tend the plants, watch them grow, and ultimately feel a tremendous sense of pride in what they have accomplished.\r\n\r\nThis garden center is so much more than just a place to grow plants; it's a living, breathing part of our curriculum that offers crucial hands-on lessons in responsibility, patience, and teamwork. By bringing natural beauty to the campus and creating a positive, collaborative activity, it benefits all the classes on campus and significantly aids in improving the overall campus climate and culture. Thank you so much for making this transformative opportunity possible through your support and belief in our students.","fullyFundedDate":1746816063928,"projectUrl":"project/nurturing-growth-building-a-school-gard/9288342/","projectTitle":"Nurturing Growth: Building a School Garden","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. B.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp596806_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732808435537","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/596806"},{"teacherId":596806,"projectId":9582938,"letterContent":"Thank you so much!! The art supplies you so kindly donated have had an immeasurable impact on our students' daily lives and are so much more than just a collection of crayons, paper, and paint. They have become essential tools for learning, expression, and growth. \r\n\r\nYour gift has allowed us to create a space where our students can explore, learn, and express themselves in ways that build confidence and independence. The supplies are used every single day to foster critical life skills, enhance fine motor control, help with sensory regulation, and provide a safe and positive outlet for creative expression and coping. We are immensely grateful for your belief in our program and our students' potential.\r\n\r\nWe have already put your generous donation to work in so many wonderful and impactful ways. For a new garden project, the vibrant chalk became a tool of anticipation and planning. It was a concrete way for them to visualize and prepare for the new project, building their excitement and problem-solving skills before we even started digging. The paints and construction paper have led to a flourishing of artistic endeavors, from creating colorful ocean turtles to celebrate the end of summer to designing individual stars that represent each student's unique personality. We also created a collaborative piece with a fall theme, a large \"I be\"leaf\" in you\" display that serves as a beautiful daily reminder of the support and encouragement they offer one another. \r\n\r\nYour donation of play dough was instrumental in a problem-solving exercise where students had to brainstorm and then physically construct a pencil holder, transforming an abstract idea into a tangible, functional object. Similarly, we used the generous supply of paints to conduct a trial-and-error experiment in color mixing, giving students the chance to explore trial and error and see how new shades could be created. \r\n\r\nEach of these projects, made possible by your donation, serves a dual purpose: to create something beautiful and to teach a valuable, practical lesson. The abundance of art supplies you provided allows us to make creativity a continuous part of our week, woven into every aspect of our curriculum. Beyond individual projects, the supplies are used to help with fine motor skills by simply drawing and cutting, to provide sensory input through the feel of clay or paint, and to give students a medium to work through emotions when words are difficult to find. \r\n\r\nThe pride our students take in their creations is truly moving, and seeing their masterpieces proudly displayed throughout our classroom has brought a sense of beauty and accomplishment that energizes our entire space. Your donation is not just about the tangible materials; it's about the dignity, joy, and learning you have enabled for our students. Thank you, once again, for making a real and lasting difference in the lives of the adults we serve. We are forever grateful for your kindness and generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1755035689372,"projectUrl":"project/art-for-all-abilities/9288467/","projectTitle":"Art for All Abilities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. B.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp596806_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732808435537","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/596806"},{"teacherId":596806,"projectId":9429215,"letterContent":"Our class is filled with joy and gratitude for the kitchen equipment you bought!
