We have been able to study books that are appropriate both reading-level and maturity-wise. Additionally, we have been able to read and analyze a graphic novel, which develops skills in both decoding words and images--skills that are impactful in every day life. These are opportunities that these students have not truly had before!\r\n\r\n Included in this book order were teacher-training books, which are providing myself and my fellow Honors course teachers the instruction needed to build our Honors program. Because of these training books, we will be better prepared to teach with the rigor and depth needed for these advanced students to thrive!\r\n\r\n Because of your generous gift, the Honors students of RVMS for many years will be benefited. I can't believe the change in my students feelings towards math class after I have been able to add these projects to my class. I am hearing feedback from both kids and their families that students say that math is now their favorite class. They are finally understanding concepts and excelling which is a first for some of these kids in math. \r\n\r\nRecently, I had parent teacher conferences and I had two parents actually have tears in their eyes because their student is finally enjoying math. There is no longer a fight about doing math homework.
