I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of our classroom and to share the wonderful impact your donation has had on our students. Thanks to your contribution, we have been able to create a new, inviting reading area that has quickly become a favorite space for our kindergarten and second-grade students.\r\n\r\nThe new reading area has been transformative in so many ways. Our students absolutely love it! It provides a calm, cozy space where they can escape into the world of books and develop a love for reading. One of the most exciting aspects has been how the books in our collection—particularly \"The Magical Yet\" and \"Kindness is a Superpower\"—have resonated deeply with our students.\r\n\r\nThese books are perfect for our social-emotional learning lessons. \"The Magical Yet\" helps our young learners understand the power of perseverance, teaching them that challenges are just part of the learning process and that growth takes time. Meanwhile, \"Kindness is a Superpower\" has become an essential tool in teaching our students the importance of empathy and compassion toward others. Both books serve as perfect references for calming down strategies in our ESE classroom, allowing students to reflect on their feelings and use the lessons from these books to self-regulate when needed.\r\n\r\nOur kindergarten and second-grade groups, in particular, have benefitted greatly from this new space. Students are not only developing a greater appreciation for reading, but they are also learning crucial social-emotional skills. They now use the techniques they've learned from the books as references for calming themselves down when they feel upset or overwhelmed. The positive changes we've seen in their behavior and emotional regulation are a testament to the power of your support.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for making this possible. Your donation has created a space where students can grow, learn, and develop critical life skills, and we are truly grateful for your commitment to their success.","fullyFundedDate":1733952749300,"projectUrl":"project/empower-our-ese-classroom-with-mindful-a/8686250/","projectTitle":"Empower Our ESE Classroom with Mindful and Self-Esteem Boosting Books","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Marte-Cabrera","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9148330_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1691020307058","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9148330"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_69401","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1240,"numTeachers":63,"percentFrplEligible":25,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":71,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"19.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":74.7,"schoolId":69401,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Round Lake Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Round Lake Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/lake-county-school-district/round-lake-elementary-school/69401"}
