We are using the picture prompt writing book as a launch point for longer narrative and descriptive writing pieces. I started the lesson by introducing the vocabulary words in the word bank and then having students rate the words based on their knowledge of the word. I created definition strips so after we discuss the vocabulary, the students have to match the word with the correct definition. Once they begin their writing, I have the students highlight the vocabulary words in their narrative to ensure they are all utilized throughout their writing piece. \r\n\r\nWhen this activity was first introduced, my students seemed a little hesitant but quickly gained their footing. The leg compression system is great for pre-hab and rehab, after long runs! Everyone can use it. This was the one item the team was MOST excited about!\r\n\r\nIt is an item usually only seen in big training rooms, and now we have one of our own! We received running shoes as well, and several runners now have quality running shoes. Lastly, the hurdles and resistance bands are great for training. Not only did they use them to compete in UIL, but they also have been using them in class. For instance, students had to come up with a word for the year to help them focus on their goals and motivate them to continue striving towards their goals.
