Their enthusiasm made it clear that these resources would not only support learning but also spark creativity and motivate them to dive into new challenges. There was a lot of joyful chatter as they experimented, shared discoveries with one another, and began creating their own ideas for how to use the materials. \r\n\r\nWe've been integrating the new resources into our daily learning routines, and they've already made a noticeable impact on student engagement and skill development. The magnetic balls and rods, along with the colorful STEM building kits, have become a favorite during both centers and small-group activities. Students use them to build structures, experiment with balance, and explore shapes, which strengthens their spatial reasoning, fine motor skills, and problem-solving abilities.\r\nWith these new materials, our students are ready to take the next steps in expanding their hands-on learning. In our current lessons, we'll be using the STEM building kits and magnetic manipulatives to deepen their understanding of shapes, patterns, and basic engineering concepts. Students will begin working on small collaborative projects where they design simple structures, test their stability, and reflect on what worked and what they would change. In literacy and numeracy, the sight-word games, number locks, and counting tools will be incorporated into rotating stations. Students will practice identifying sight words, building simple sentences, and strengthening their number sense through problem-solving challenges.","fullyFundedDate":1758991113815,"projectUrl":"project/learning-centers-with-purposeful-play/9764249/","projectTitle":"Learning Centers With Purposeful Play","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Alvarez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9265065_orig.png?crop=539,539,x17,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694062485955","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jessicalvarez28"},{"teacherId":9549930,"projectId":9754134,"letterContent":"Thank you once again for your donation! Historically, nearly half of our scholars were identified as chronically absent. Through intentional supports and encouragement—including projects like this one—we have reduced that number to 33.8% and are on track to bring it even lower this year. These resources help us show our students that showing up matters, that learning is exciting, and that their hard work and commitment to being in school are valued.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of our entire school family, thank you for blessing our students with opportunities that fuel both their curiosity and their success. In math, the paper has been invaluable for hands-on problem-solving activities. Students worked through multi-step addition problems, carefully showing each step of their calculations. This not only improved their organizational skills but also increased their accuracy and confidence as they could clearly see their progress and correct any mistakes. In English, we focused on foundational literacy skills, such as practicing writing their first and last names and home addresses. The quality of the paper gave students a comfortable space to practice letter formation and spacing. I noticed one student, who often struggles with writing, became noticeably more confident because the ability to draft and revise their work on nice paper allowed for a less frustrating and more enjoyable learning experience.\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their reaction was one of excitement and curiosity.
