My students were ecstatic when they saw our new gum ball machine, new squishy toys, treats, and Slim Jim's. These snacks, toys, and treats have made participating in class and positive interactions a lot more easy in our classroom. We even get students who pass by our door look in to see what's in the machine and how they could join in. \r\nI must say the students are doing more than before to get to use the machines. One of my Kindergarten girls has selected the colorful heart squishy as her favorite. While one of my first grade boys only wants the dinosaur squishy. The gum ball machine is also a big hit. The gum balls are the favorite right before lunch or at dismissal. Our classroom activities are more engaging because a treat after engaging practice and learning has helped so much. Thank you again for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1758231299107,"projectUrl":"project/gum-ball-machine-incentives/9594412/","projectTitle":"Gum Ball Machine Incentives","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1794275"},{"teacherId":1794275,"projectId":9157820,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for supporting our team! The girls were ecstatic when I shared with them the new practice tools. Many of the girls were not familiar with the agility ladders, how to use the hurdle bars, and the parachute. We had to do a lot of teaching and modeling which was pretty cool to engage with the girls differently. Practice was not as intense. \r\n\r\nThe basketballs and mouth guards were instant hits. The girls were excited to choose their favorite color mouth guard and take off playing with the new balls. Over time the girls have improved with using the tools and chewing gum while playing. The gum! Thank you for the gum because it has become a staple in practice we will have to restock for the season. Thank you again for supporting us! Not only are they excited for the contents inside, they actually enjoy turning the handle to se how many Mike & Ike candies or gum balls come out. The Frooties and Chews are great choices for the older student's. One of my second grade girl's loves the pink gum ball machine because she loves the color pink. Overall, these incentives have my classroom behaviors at a superb level right now. The students are great helpers around the room and are supportive of one another. Learning is taking place without too many interruptions from excited behaviors. The prizes are also a big hit. The students who are not sweet seekers are excited to choose a new toy when they reach their targeted goal. Their faces light up when they get to visit the larger toy machine. We wanted the items to have an impact on them at a time that matters most. The holidays can be such a tough financial time. All of the items were well received by our families. We took great care in handcrafting each gift bag with each scholars name and making it very personalized. Each scholar received the gift items and a hat and glove set to keep warm during the winter months. \r\n\r\nThey truly enjoyed the gifts and were so excited when asked to come over and \"holiday shop\". I got a little assistance from my daughter who is an Art minor in college. She creatively designed each gift bag with winter art by hand, and wrote each students name in a fun and fancy font. They picked the toys and items they wanted, and we also discussed with them the importance of kindness during the holidays, and throughout the year. We had a ball with this project! So much creativity, thoughtfulness, and love went into spreading a message of kindness to our scholars, which was very well received.","fullyFundedDate":1731909357953,"projectUrl":"project/unwrap-the-power-of-kindness-help-us-sp/8932648/","projectTitle":"Unwrap the Power of Kindness! Your donations towards the materials are truly appreciated. My students young and old have all gravitated towards our new class stuffed character Peete the Cat. Peete has been a comfort to several of my students. One student likes to keep Peete at his desk and with him on the carpet during small group learning. \r\nMy Kindergarten and first graders are improving in tracing and writing their letters without too much fret in the alphabet books they received. The students are also having a good time learning high frequency words in their books. They like making silly sentences and similar sentences to the ones provided in the book. Many of my students have deficits in reading and some have support with writing and these books have helped them to do more with trying to learn. \r\nFinally the reading books, Peete the Cat and the Pigeon series have been a big hit. My third graders find the Pigeon series to be hilarious and like rereading them. My younger students listens to them and they make connections to other stories they've heard. We all have a laugh after discussing the events in the different books. \r\nI am glad that you chose to help me and my students with these materials. Thank you very much!
