When I called them to an assembly they assumed girls were being chastised for dress code violations. When they realized instead that they were being cared for by they community, they quite literally broke into applause. \r\n\r\nThey are just learning to navigate their changing bodies and it can be scary and awkward to own up to what they need. Knowing they have a safe place to go and a back up in case of emergency gives them so much confidence when they walk through our doors. learning to be a woman can be terrifying.
