Having this reptile join our learning environment has made an incredible impact on our students. Through this hands-on experience, the class has jumped right into learning about reptiles, exploring their unique biology, natural habitats, and specific care needs. To make the arrival even more special, we integrated our social studies curriculum by holding a democratic class vote to choose the lizard's name. This gave the students a practical, exciting way to practice civic participation and voting procedures firsthand.\r\n\r\nThe students' enthusiasm has been truly wonderful to watch, and they have stepped up with a tremendous amount of responsibility. They take their daily duties very seriously, closely following feeding schedules, monitoring humidity and temperature levels, and ensuring our lizard's habitat stays clean. This daily routine has fostered a genuine sense of teamwork, empathy, and accountability across the entire classroom.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for this enriching experience and are eagerly looking forward to building on it throughout the school year. Our class pet will serve as a fantastic living reference point as we dive deeper into our upcoming biology units on ecosystems, animal adaptations, and life cycles.
