As a special education teacher, I am blessed to witness moments like these, and I wish I could share every single one of them with you!\r\n\r\nWhen I created our project, \"Help My Special Education Students Shine,\"my hope was simple: to give my students more opportunities to experience success, feel confident in their abilities, and enjoy coming to school each day. Thanks to your generosity, that hope is becoming a reality!\r\n\r\nOur students have truly enjoyed their new classroom resources! They have brought fresh excitement into our daily routines and given our children more opportunities to explore, participate, and learn in ways that meet their individual needs.\r\n\r\nOne of the things I love most about teaching my students is that they remind me every day that progress doesn't always happen in big, noticeable ways. Sometimes progress is a student completing an activity with less assistance, participating when they normally hesitate, communicating what they need, or proudly showing me something they accomplished.\r\n\r\nAnd when those moments happen, you better believe we celebrate!\r\n\r\nMy classroom is filled with children who have so much personality, determination, and potential. They may need different levels of support, but they are capable of so much when given the right tools, patience, and encouragement.\r\n\r\nYour donation helped us create more opportunities for those special moments.\r\n\r\nWe will continue using these resources to strengthen academic skills, encourage independent learning, develop communication, and help our students become more confident in themselves. My greatest hope is that every child who walks through my classroom door leaves knowing they are important, capable, and worthy of success.\r\n\r\nI often tell my students how proud I am of them, but today I want to tell **YOU** how grateful I am for the difference you've made.\r\n\r\nYou may never meet the children you've helped, but please know that your kindness is felt in our classroom. It's reflected in their excitement, their willingness to try, their growing confidence, and those beautiful moments when they realize just how much they can accomplish.\r\n\r\nYou helped give my students something that cannot be measured by a price tag: the opportunity to believe in themselves.\r\n\r\nThank you for choosing our classroom, supporting our vision, and helping me remind my students that their abilities are greater than their challenges.\r\nEvery child deserves a chance to shine, and because of you, our stars are shining a little brighter!** 🌟\r\n\r\nWith sincere gratitude and a very proud teacher's heart,\r\nMrs. Walton & the Incredible Students of Room 155❤️\r\n\r\nRochelle Middle School","fullyFundedDate":1787585262185,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-special-education-students-shine/10435835/","projectTitle":"Help My Special Education Students Shine","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Walton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10388832_orig.jpg?crop=1024,1024,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1786114304973","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10388832"},{"teacherId":10388832,"projectId":10480331,"letterContent":"❤️ A Heartfelt Thank You for Supporting \"Read and Dance for EC Kids!\"\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for helping bring our Read and Dance for EC Kids project to life!\r\n\r\nAs a teacher in a self-contained Exceptional Children's classroom, I have the privilege of working with some of the most amazing children. Each of my students learns differently, communicates differently, and celebrates success in their own special way. One thing they all share is the desire to have fun, feel included, and experience the joy of learning.\r\n\r\nOur kids have absolutely loved using their new resources! Seeing their faces light up as we bring reading, music, and movement together has been such a blessing. Watching them enjoy a story, move to the music, smile, laugh, and participate in their own unique ways reminds me why I love what I do.\r\n\r\nFor some of my students, participating in a group activity is a major accomplishment. For others, it's recognizing a word, following a direction, expressing themselves through movement, or simply finding the confidence to join in. These are the moments that may seem small to others, but in our classroom, they are HUGE victories!\r\n\r\nYour generosity has allowed us to make learning more exciting, interactive, and meaningful. We are continuing to build on these experiences by incorporating reading, music, and movement into our daily lessons while strengthening communication, social interaction, confidence, and independence.\r\n\r\nWhat touches my heart the most is knowing that people like you believe in my students. In school—especially in Physical Education—technology serves a very different purpose. The new TV allows us to visually model skills, strategies, and routines in ways that are clear and engaging. Instead of only hearing instructions, students can see proper form for stretches, drills, and sport-specific techniques. We can pause, replay, and break down movements step by step. This visual learning is especially helpful for students who learn best by seeing and doing. It has improved understanding, increased confidence, and helped students practice more safely and effectively.\r\nWhat's most exciting to students is seeing themselves grow. We can display fitness challenges, timers, movement sequences, and interactive workout videos that keep them motivated and focused. They love when we project skill demonstrations or short clips that connect to the sport we're learning. The TV also allows us to celebrate student achievements by showcasing team goals, progress charts, and even photos from class activities. It brings energy and a sense of importance to our gym space.\r\nSeveral students have especially warmed to this new technology. Our more reserved students, who might hesitate to participate, feel more confident after watching demonstrations and understanding expectations clearly. Students who struggle with coordination benefit from being able to observe and mirror movements at their own pace. We've also seen strong leadership emerge—students volunteer to demonstrate skills alongside what's shown on the screen, helping peers and building teamwork.\r\nThis generous donation has transformed how we teach and how students experience Physical Education. It's not just a TV—it's a tool that makes learning more visible, inclusive, and inspiring. We are so grateful for the support that is helping our students move, grow, and succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1762266274603,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-fitness-to-life-for-every-stude/9794219/","projectTitle":"Bringing Fitness to Life for Every Student","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lofton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9608247_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722959030395","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9608247"},{"teacherId":9608247,"projectId":9509771,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our PE and Health classroom. Thanks to your kindness, we now have a new printer, a surge protector with multiple outlets, and phone organizers that are already making a huge impact on our students' learning and daily routines.\r\nWhile many people use technology at home, its role in a physical education and health setting is a little different. In our classroom, technology helps students learn to take ownership of their goals, track their progress, and explore real-world health and fitness content. The new printer allows students to print fitness logs, goal-tracking sheets, health projects, and reflection assignments so they can literally see and take home their hard work. Making learning visible encourages accountability and pride in their growth.\r\nThe surge protector makes it possible to keep multiple devices powered safely while we use instructional videos, student research stations, and online fitness platforms. It may seem simple, but having reliable outlets ensures we can keep heart rate monitors charged, laptops running, and health resources accessible without interruption.\r\nThe phone organizers have been a game changer. In PE and health classes, movement and engagement are essential, and phones can easily become a distraction. Now, students have a clear, consistent place to store them, helping us promote responsible decision-making and fully present participation. Students have told me they feel more focused and energized in class because they're less tempted to check their screens.\r\nOne student who usually struggled to stay engaged now takes great pride in printing his weekly fitness plan from the classroom printer. Another student who was constantly distracted by her phone now places it in the organizer first thing without being asked and has been participating more in group activities. These small changes add up—and have strengthened our classroom culture in ways that truly matter.\r\nYour support has helped us create a safer, more organized, and more intentional learning space where students are encouraged to take control of their physical and mental well-being.
