When a student picks up a book and sees a protagonist who looks like them or shares their cultural background, it validates their identity and fuels their passion for reading.\r\nOur students wasted no time diving into the new collection, finding comfort and connection in stories that represent their diverse backgrounds.\r\n\r\nEmpowering Future Leaders\r\nThe addition of picture books featuring women in STEM, such as Ada Twist, Scientist and stories about Katherine Johnson, has been a major highlight. These books are doing more than teaching literacy; they are expanding our students' horizons and showing them that careers in science, technology, engineering, and math are within their reach.\r\nEngrossed in the new narratives, these young readers are discovering new worlds and big possibilities.\r\n\r\nBridging Languages and Cultures\r\nOur new dual-language English/Spanish books and titles highlighting cities like San Juan, Oaxaca, and Bogotá have become instant favorites. These resources are essential for our bilingual learners, allowing them to strengthen their literacy in both languages while celebrating their heritage.\r\nOur \"New Books\" shelf is now a colorful gateway to global perspectives, thanks to your support.","fullyFundedDate":1768161326212,"projectUrl":"project/fresh-fiction-for-growing-readers/9919613/","projectTitle":"Fresh Fiction for Growing Readers!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Michelle Ball","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10302011_orig.jpg?crop=665,665,x0,y73&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762916185244","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/michelleball"},{"teacherId":10302011,"projectId":10006674,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredible generosity in funding the new plastic bins for our \"dynamic shelving\" project at the Robious Elementary Library. Your support has transformed our space from a static collection of spines into a vibrant, engaging marketplace of ideas for our students.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this shift has been immediate and profound:\r\nVisual Appeal: The library looks modernized and much more inviting. Instead of looking at rows of thin book spines, students are greeted by colorful, front-facing covers that practically beg to be picked up. It has turned our library into a \"bookstore-style\" experience that the kids absolutely love.\r\n\r\nEase of Access: For our younger readers, finding a book used to be a physical challenge. Now, they can easily flip through the bins to find their favorite characters or topics. This independence has boosted their confidence and excitement during their weekly library visits.\r\n\r\nBetter Organization: These bins have allowed us to categorize our collection in a way that actually makes sense to a child's brain. Whether they are looking for \"Dinosaurs,\" \"Dogs,\" or \"Military Vehicles,\" the organization is now intuitive and streamlined, making reshelving faster and browsing more effective.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, our students aren't just visiting the library to check out a book; they are exploring a space designed specifically for their needs and interests. You have helped us remove the \"search\" from searching for a book and replaced it with the joy of discovery.","fullyFundedDate":1771008311669,"projectUrl":"project/bins-of-books-bursts-of-curiosity/10006674/","projectTitle":"Bins of Books, Bursts of Curiosity","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Michelle Ball","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10302011_orig.jpg?crop=665,665,x0,y73&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762916185244","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/michelleball"},{"teacherId":9883946,"projectId":9021163,"letterContent":"I am writing to thank you for your generous donations of speech therapy materials that my students have been using and enjoying during their speech sessions. \r\nThey have really loved the mouth puppet model to help teach them how to position their tongue to produce specific sounds. The hands-on approach makes a huge difference! \r\nThe alphabet sound teaching tubs have been a big hit for kids grade PK- 4. The kids have used them for a range of different goals: sorting beginning and ending sounds, categorizing, and describing skills. \r\nSome students have been using the Playdoh and having a lot of fun. Other students are enjoying the \"Basic Vocabulary Flash Cards\" as the device talks and has sounds effects too. \r\nI am so appreciative of your donations.
